Greenless Pictures is going to represent %25 of all of the films in competition this year at The Loft Cinema's First Friday Shorts Year-End Showdown! This month, my latest film, 'Batman Versus Superman' took home the prize and on May 1st it will join its prequel, 'Batman's Bad Day' and 'Public Service Announcement in a program full of all 12 monthly winners from the last year!

Greenless Back-To-Back Wins @ Loft Contest!

To coincide with the outrageous popularity of The Dark Knight, I chose to debut Batman's Bad Day at The Loft Cinema's July installment of First Friday Shorts.  The short faced some stiff competition from Shaun Clayton and his film, Discount Assassin.  The popularity of The Batman surged past the hitman flick, and the rest of the competition for that matter, and took home the $200 prize.  It was great to see some of the cast and crew at the screening.

When August rolled around I was expecting the Loft's seats to be filled with UA students returning to campus after the summer break.  I was wrong...  but because of that, I'm now $200 richer!  I don't know what it is about the FFS event, but I always feel weird if I show up without anything to screen myself.  At about 7pm I decided that I needed to put something together for the show - a few minutes later I was pounding away at the Photoshop and Premiere trying to pump something out.  The resulting 30 second short, Public Service Announcement, turned out pretty well...  for what it was, at least.  I doubt the film would have had any real chance at winning the prize during a 'normal' month, but with only 2 other films in competition...  and with both of them getting gonged...  I kinda won by default.  The film played well, and that's what's important.  The $200 is just icing.  Well, it was a shotgun microphone from Bookman's this time, but you get what I'm saying.

Just what the internet needs: More Batman news!

It's been really cool week for everyone's favorite Caped Crusader - he's setting box office records and bringing attention to yours truly all at the same time!  If you were one of the people checking out The Dark Knight at Marana's Tower Theatres over the weekend then you probably saw my latest short, Batman's Bad Day playing in front of it!  The nice folks over at Tower attached it to all of their screenings of the latest Batman blockbuster, and ever since the first midnight screening I've been flooded with positive comments.

The flick's also been getting some attention across the 'net.  Both BlueTights.net and FanCinemaToday.com have run stories about it, the latter including a very positive review of 'Bad Day' and it's prequel, Batman's In The Kitchen.

It was the 2nd Friday in July, just days after my 2nd wedding anniversary, when I screened part 2 of my bizarre little Batman trilogy...  just weeks before part 2 of the new Batman trilogy opens in theatres.  The last Batman film that I showed at The Loft's First Friday Shorts came in 2nd place...  but this night...  was different...
