You know, one thing I never thought I would do is walk into a ballet supply store and buy a leotard. Oh, what a crazy world we live in. I've been working on a film that my buddy Roman Rodriguez wrote called Batman's Bad Day, and as the title suggests the film is filled with superheroes. I contemplated heading over to Creative Costumes and picking up some off-season Halloween costumes for the characters (running about $60 each for the adult sizes) but decided against it, opting to go for a more authentic look. I don't want to go into a long step-by-step explanation of how to put something like this together, but I thought it might be cool to show everybody what $65 can do (when you have an awesome wife that knows how to sew, that is!).These were made with large unisex leotards, Ritz fabric dye, plain colored fabric (capes), and stiff felt fabric squares from Michael's Crafts (chest emblems). I also picked up some 'trunks' for that underwear-on-the-outside-of-the-pants superhero look, and some garbage gloves for Batman. The Batman mask was leftover from Halloween last year ($35). If you wanna see these things in action, be sure to come by The Loft on July 11th for the premiere of Batman's Bad Day!
